Hit-and-Run in Jersey City Leaves Local Journalist Injured; Driver Faces Multiple Charges

A Jersey City journalist is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run that ended in a violent multi-car crash and a string of charges against the driver, authorities said. According to police and witness accounts, the collision occurred in Jersey City when a vehicle struck a pedestrian and left the scene. The victim, a local journalist, was thrown to the ground and suffered injuries that required medical treatment. The shooting of National Guard members in Washington DC

A daytime attack on two members of the West Virginia National Guard in central Washington DC has left one soldier dead and the other fighting for his life and has ignited a national debate over security immigration and the use of military personnel inside the United States. The shooting took place on the afternoon of November 26 2025 near Farragut Square only a short walk from the White House in what officials describe as a targeted ambush on troops assigned to a security mission in the capital.  According to federal and local authorities the two victims are Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom age twenty from the West Virginia Army National Guard and Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe age twenty four from the West Virginia Air National Guard. They had been deployed to Washington as part of an ongoing National Guard presence that the Trump administration justified as a response to crime and public order concerns.  Witnesses reported hearing a burst of gunfire near the Farragut...

The United States absence from the 2025 G20

In November 2025 the Group of Twenty held a historic summit in Johannesburg South Africa, the first G20 leaders meeting ever hosted on the African continent. It was historic for another reason as well. For the first time since the forum was created, the United States chose not to participate at all in a G20 leaders summit, leaving its seat completely empty. That deliberate lack of participation is more than a scheduling oddity. It reflects deeper shifts in United States foreign policy, tensions with South Africa, and a wider struggle over who sets the rules in the global economy. Why the G20 matters The G20 brings together 19 of the worlds largest national economies plus the European Union and now the African Union to coordinate on global economic, financial, and increasingly political questions. Together they represent about two thirds of the global population and around 80 percent of world gross domestic product and trade. The United States has historically been one of the centra...

Iran’s Threat to Close Strait of Hormuz Sends Shockwaves Through Global Markets

Iran’s escalating conflict with Israel has taken a perilous turn, with Tehran issuing a stark threat to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade. The warning, made in retaliation for Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, has rattled financial markets, driven up oil prices, and raised fears of a broader economic crisis. As tensions in the Middle East intensify, the world watches anxiously to see whether Iran will follow through on its threat, which could disrupt nearly 20% of global oil supplies and destabilize the global economy. The Threat: A Geopolitical “Nuclear Option” On June 18, 2025, Iranian officials, including senior members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reiterated their capability to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman that serves as the primary conduit for oil exports from the Persian Gulf. The threat came in response to Israel’...
